Values and history
“ALBA Maquinaria para la construcción ” was born in 1957 in a small factory located in Huertas de la Villa (Bilbao, Biscay, Spain); 5 years later the team moved to Sondika (Biscay, Spain). We then choose the color blue – new for that time – as a sign of identity that will always accompany us.
With more than 20.000 m² of facilities located in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos, Spain), we provide top class support, in-house engineering and leading edge technology in design and structural calculation software. We manufacture all products in our own factories, which allows us to customize our machines.
We offer a wide range of quality products: rack and pinion hoists, mast climbers and suspended platforms. We stand out as a leading brand in the construction sector, recognized not only for the quality of our products but also for our exceptional technical support services. We provide specialized assistance with the presence of our expert technicians to ensure the proper commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our hoists.
Since 1961, we have an Export Department and a After-Sales Service created expressly for the international market, adapted to its needs. Throughout our entire trajectory, we have participated (and continue to participate) in the main international trade fairs, which allows us to learn about the trends in the sector. Our experience makes us a world-renowned company today, with a presence in 77 countries.
Canopy Brands is a family of trusted brands providing protection, access and mobility solutions to commercial and residential markets. The Alba brand is born in Bilbao (Bizkaia, Spain) with the blue color as a sign of identity that will always accompany it.
Alba creates the first PEC 120 mast climber, thus giving life to a new product line: rack and pinion lifting machinery. The company becomes the first European manufacturer to pass the AENOR type CE Examinations for its mast climbing work platforms. 2 years later, the doors of its new facilities in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos, Spain) are opened.
Alba is the first manufacturer of collective protection systems to research on damages with "dummies" and starts up the first mast climber overload device, becoming a worldwide pioneer.
Alba creates the electric suspended platform, a swing stage designed to work at height.
Alba develops TELEMATICS together with Trackunit. It is a pioneering traceability system for construction hoists. In 2022, the PMH model is a finalist in the IAPA awards (IPAF association) in the product of the year category.
The American group Canopy Brands acquires Alba as part of its growth strategy. The company thus consolidates its international presence and reinforces its capacity to offer innovative products at a global level, expanding its portfolio of construction hoists and suspended platforms and improving its distribution network in key markets.
